Samantha Sentell

Born and raised in Minden, Louisiana, Sam began dancing with Cydni’s School of Dance, CSD, at age 3 and trained under the direction of Cydni Hutson for 15 years. Sam was a competition soloist and assistant teacher during her time at CSD. She now choreographs for the competition team.

In high school, Sam furthered her training by auditioning for summer dance intensives.  She spent the summer of 2017 training with the Joffrey Texas Ballet Summer Intensive in San Antonio, Texas, and the summer of 2018 dancing at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts Summer Contemporary Dance Program in Winton-Salem, North Carolina.

Sam joined the Twin City Ballet Company in Monroe, Louisiana, in 2018 and was a senior company member for two seasons under Artistic Director Linda Lavender Ford. During her time with Twin City Ballet Company, the company was adjudicated and selected to perform at the 2019 Regional Dance America Southwest Festival in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she was a scholarship recipient.

Sam attended Louisiana State University, LSU, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. During college, Sam auditioned to be an LSU Golden Girl and was selected to be on the team from 2021-2023. As a Golden Girl, she danced at LSU football games during pregame and halftime shows for over 102,000 fans in LSU’s Tiger Stadium.

In 2022, Sam was hired by Universal Dance Association, UDA, as a summer staff instructor where she taught dance technique and UDA routines to middle and high school dance teams from all over the country. Currently, Sam is an elementary teacher in the Frisco ISD.

Sam is so excited to be joining the Edge Dance Family!
